Financial Controller

We are now hiring a Financial Controller to take hands-on ownership of day-to-day finance execution, accounting quality, and ERP-driven processes - working closely with the Senior Financial Controller and our outsourced finance partner.

Role Overview:
The Financial Controller is a highly executional, hands-on role responsible for ensuring that ReOrbit’s accounting, close, and finance operations run accurately, efficiently, and on time.
You will:
Be the finance-side key user for our ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management)
Work day-to-day with Greenstep (outsourced accounting provider)
Own the operational backbone of finance: close, controls, audit prep, and data integrity
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building robust finance operations, working close to the numbers, and operating at the heart of a scaling deep-tech company.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Month-End Close
Own and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
Review and validate accounting outputs from Greenstep – our outsourced finance partner (GL, AP, AR, payroll, accruals).
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records.
Maintain chart of accounts, accounting structures, and posting logic.
ERP (Microsoft D365 F&SCM) – Finance Key User
Act as the primary finance key user for D365 ERP.
Own finance master data, posting setups, close workflows, and controls.
Ensure ERP supports month-end close, audit needs, and management reporting.
Work closely with the ERP Implementation Manager and Senior Financial Controller on enhancements, fixes, and future phases.
Translate finance requirements into D365 process and control improvements.
Audit, Compliance & Controls
Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Coordinate interactions with auditors under guidance of Senior Financial Controller.
Lead statutory reporting, VAT, tax, and grant-related compliance.
Help strengthen internal controls as the company scales.
Treasury & Operational Finance Support
Support daily cash monitoring and payment execution.
Own bank reconciliations and treasury-related controls.
Maintain clean data for cash flow forecasting and liquidity tracking.
Reporting & Finance Operations
Prepare operational finance reports and close packs.
Support variance analysis and basic management and investor reporting.
Ensure finance data is audit-ready, ERP-consistent, and decision-useful.
Skills and Requirements
4–7 years of hands-on financial controlling or accounting experience.
Strong practical experience in month-end close, accounting, and audits.
Experience working with outsourced accounting providers.
ERP experience required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
Solid understanding of accounting principles; IFRS exposure a plus.
Excellent Excel / spreadsheet skills.
Fluent in English; Finnish is a strong plus.
