AIT Engineer
ReOrbit is a leader in space technology, committed to advancing satellite development and supporting critical space missions. We are seeking a dynamic and talented AIT Engineer with specialized expertise in both satellite AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Test) and harnessing to join our growing team. The role offers the unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite systems while contributing to the integration of complex harnessing solutions.
We are looking for an AIT Engineer who is experienced in satellite systems and has a strong background in harnessing. This position will be split between standard satellite AIT functions and the design, integration, and testing of electrical harnesses. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful integration of electrical systems, mechanical assembly, and electrical testing within satellite platforms.
Satellite AIT Tasks
- Assemble, integrate, and test satellite systems and payloads according to specified requirements and standards.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate system functionality, electrical interfaces, and performance.
- Perform troubleshooting and issue resolution during AIT activities.
- Document test results, prepare reports, and support any necessary failure analysis.
Harnessing Tasks
- Design, integrate, and test satellite harnesses, ensuring accurate routing and proper connection between components.
- Develop detailed harnessing schematics and create build instructions for manufacturing.
- Perform electrical continuity and high-pot testing to verify harness performance.
- Work with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure harness integration meets mission requirements and fits within the satellite platform.
Experience Requirement
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in satellite AIT, including integration and testing of electrical and mechanical subsystems.
- Proven experience in satellite harness design, integration, and testing.
- Strong familiarity with standard electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, high-pot testers, etc.).
- Familiarity with harnessing tools and best practices for space-grade applications.
Skills Requirement
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, interfaces, and wiring schemes for space applications.
- Experience working with satellite integration teams and providing technical guidance.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with spaceflight-rated harness manufacturing and integration.
- Familiarity with satellite environmental test procedures (vibration, thermal vacuum, etc.).
- Knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Zuken, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with satellite hardware integration in a clean room environment.
- Knowledge of ECSS/NASA workmanship standards for electronics and interconnects (or equivalent)
What does ReOrbit do?
ReOrbit builds the foundation for the next generation of space applications by transforming satellites into truly intelligent, interconnected platforms, defined by software. Our satellite design philosophy revolves around the idea that satellites must network, communicate with each other and thus improve mission efficiency. How can this be achieved? Thanks to a flexible software-first architecture, where all these aspects are dealt with upfront in the mission concept, as integrated functionalities.
ReOrbit’s top-notch team of software engineers and system architects develop in-house software, procure hardware from the best-in-class suppliers, and seamlessly integrate the components to create flexible and secure satellites. Today, we are a rapidly growing company building a very strong multidisciplinary team to support our activities.
